No Friends in the Industry, a Drake lyric that may or may not have been a shot Kanye in the past is now definitely coming true for Kanye West. For him the list keeps getting longer because he can not seem to keep his mouth shut. In the wake of his recent commentary that was anti-semitic, racist and honestly just flat out untrue Balenciaga has decided to officially cut ties with Kanye West. This is number 2 for Kanye West in the last 2 months. First it was the Gap, now Balenciaga and honestly it may soon be Adidas. Kanye West for years has tried to break barriers in the fashion industry, but now all that hard work seems to be in vain. Kanye tends to for some reason put his big boot in his mouth. The above situation is no different and he will probably be seeing the ramifications of actions in the coming weeks.

Kanye West went on a disgusting rant discussing the death of George Floyd, Ye stated that George Floyd was on fentanyl which resulted in his death, not the knee on his neck. He then went on to say that the Jewish community was all about money, power and greed, and further stated that they tried to blackball the rapper to push their own agenda. The rapper also tweeted inflammatory statements to the Jewish community that have since been removed by Twitter but definitely not forgotten. He said he would go “Death con 3 on Jewish people”. And honestly that was pure evil. Kanye seems to make grandiose vile statements that are unfounded and rooted in antisemitism and honestly racism.

This Kanye 2.0 has been brewing for a while now, but was officially re-introduced to the world when he wore White Lives Matter shirt during Paris Fashion Week. For the black community, this disappointment feels like a death, because the rapper so vehemently stood up for the Black community in the wake of Katrina and other issues of racial injustice. But nonetheless, we will see what will happen with Kanye West in the coming weeks. My guess, Balenciaga is the first of many and Kanye will be in for a rude awakening when he finds standing alone once again with no friends in the fashion industry.
